Keep it clean
My boyfriend always laughs that no matter how dirty I may be in bed I’m a neat freak the rest of the time. But the truth may just be that I’m cheap! I love using a vibrator as part of our play and with all the money we spend on sex toys, I’ve always thought keeping them clean and well maintained makes them last longer. Plus, let’s be honest, no one wants to use a dirty vibrator. Finding information on keeping vibrators and sex toys clean isn’t easy, so here’s some tips I’ve come across (pun intended, ha ha).
Most vibrators just need a quick rub down with warm soapy water. I like to use anti-bacterial soap on mine but you need to make sure you get the non-gritty kind because after a lot of cleanings they can add a texture to your vibrator you won’t like.
I give my vibrators a light clean up like this after every use but I also make it a habit to periodically give them a more thorough cleaning. This is really important if you’ve used your vibrator on other people. Just remember- vibrators are battery operated pieces of machinery. You definitely do not want to get water in there. I never submerge mine in a sink full of water. Also avoid the dishwasher. The dishwasher is a great place to clean a dildo but not your vibrator.
