From two different online sites in the past 2 months alone, I've bought a lot.

Honestly? I get so many for free to review. I have a review queue of about a dozen items right now and only 2 of my toys were purchased in the past 6 months or so.

I define a sex toy as anything we can use to enhance our sex life...so...

Lingerie...5 (bikini top, 3 bra & panty sets, crotchless panty hose)
Movies...2 (including the Pirate movie)
'Toys'...3 (a new dildo and a couple new cock rings)
Lube...1 (actually this was to have an extra one around the house)

Damn...NOW I know where my money goes!

I find that I rarely do now.  Like Adriana, I wait until I can review the ones I want.  Unless I have gift cards, I rarely set out to purchase anything.  Although technically today I bought a corset and skirt for 1.34 because my gift card was short.

We seem to buy them sporadically, in clusters. When we first started using them, I realized the one toy we had was not a well made one, so I went to buy a good one, and ended up spending a lot of money on a lot of stuff, with about 3 more big orders and a few trips to the "Porn store" in our area by My Man. (And again, the toy he bought there was cheap. *sigh*)  My Man wanted to get a stainless steel dil from a good online company, if we could find one, and I don't mind spending the money when we have it, but, damn, they are expensive. (One site said you could put it on your coffee table as "art." Can you imagine? My MIL comes over, and there's a double headed stainless steel dildo on the coffee table?  "Relax, Delores, it's art."  I'd actually like to witness that..... LOL!

We haven't bought any in a while, aside from lube, because I kind of went overboard, but I have been perusing the Tabu site and have a number of items in mind.

we purchase toys off and on. All depends on if i hear about something that sounds interesting or we decide we want to try something new.

For the budget conscious (all of us) we are running a 15% off everything special right here at http://www.tabutoys.com! Discount code is SPRING (because it needs to get here already) and then hit recalculate.

Need a powerful external vibe but don't care what it looks like? Check out the Power Breeze. It's big, it's ugly, it may be a little noisy, but it's powerful. And affordable: $39.10 after discount.

If you happen to like cords (we ain't judgin' grab an Xtreme Pack Mini Bullet for $33.15 with discount.

Or if you really like cords but not batteries, go with the classic Hitachi Magic Wand - for $50.97 (after discount) this might just be the one that'll tide you over until the paydays get better!

Aw, really Tuffty? Have you ever mentioned it before? Has she already said she'd be opposed? If you just don't know how to get the conversation started...maybe rent "Burn After Reading" if you like Coen brothers movies...Silky, the bendable dildo has a cameo appearance in the film...maybe glance over at her reaction and make your suggestions from there!

Reason I suggest something other than watching porn with toys is simply to soften the blow a bit. Plus, it's a pretty good movie and there's a scene or two involving a Liberator wedge as well. You know, just normal, everyday people with sex ramps and dildos...nothing to die about

tuffty, My Man kept hinting and asking if I wanted a dildo or a vibrator, for, like years, and I kept putting him off, and saying, "I love skin, I don't need that stuff." He went about it the wrong way, and bought one and thrust it into my hand one night, when I wasn't even in the mood and I threw it at him and ran downstairs to cry.

We both should have approached it as adults. But, as the days went by, I kept thinking about that thing in his drawer and one day I was having a difficult time coming and I said, "Oh, what the heck, get that thing." And we had a great time. We learned later he had purchased a rather inexpensive low quality toy, so I went on a search to find better ones. Now, quite a while later, we are quite the toy connoisseurs and when I go on a buying spree he always says, "I've created a monster."

When I wanted an expensive good quality toy, (most people have no idea how to buy sex toys or what they would like, it's not like they teach that in High School Health class, but they should) I looked online (because all that there are to buy "toys" around our house are Porn Shops who stock inferior or "novelty" toys, most of which are made from materials you wouldn't want to put in your orifices or on your body surfaces) I brought him to the good online stores (like Tabu and a few others) and we chose some good quality toys together. I've also gone and bought them on my own, (like my new hand cuff and tether set, which I wrote about in the BDSM section yesterday) and my little bullet, which is mine and mine alone.

I like toys from places like Tantus and Fun Factory. They are good quality, silicone (I am allergic to latex, and many latex and jelly rubber toys smell funny, which means they are outgassing phtalates which are BAD for your body) and it is worth the price. Pjur makes amazing stainless steel toys, and we may invest in one of these when we get a few extra hundred dollars.

Is there a way you could get her in the mood to LOOK at the nice toys online? It might take some of the "weirdness" out of it. The first time I brought my man to a sex toy store online, he got so turned on, I had to give him a BJ right in our home library (that's where our computers are) which I took as a good sign, as well as getting handed a credit card with an "anything goes" OK along with it! Good for both of us.

Pick some not too threatening looking toys (not the All American Challenge Dildo to start LOL!) from Tabu and let her look at the stats and see what she likes. Let her know, "This is for YOU, baby. I want to make you feel as good as possible." It's how My Man won me over, and "created" a monster.

tuffty, here's some nice starter toys, you might want to ask her if she'll at least LOOK online at the toys with you.

Starter

this one doesn't even look like a "vibrator' it looks like, I don't know what, but it is nonthreatening and rechargeable
http://www.tabutoys.com/product/Fun_Factory_Layaspot_Pink

Beautiful little starter vibe, small and rechargeable

http://www.tabutoys.com/product/LELO_Mia_Rose_Petite_Vibrator

not too scary

http://www.tabutoys.com/product/Fun_Factory_Violet_Stranger_Vibrator

a nice rechargeable (no more buying batteries) and not too big

http://www.tabutoys.com/product/Fun_Factory_Sinnflutt_Rechargeable_Vibrator

nice and a little on the larger size, but some of us are closet size queens, you never know what she might like

although the infamous Hitachi is large, it is for outside stimulation (it’s not an insertable) and it plugs in, so you don’t waste bats, and it can be used as a body massager, my only reservation is that it is a little loud.

http://www.tabutoys.com/product/Hitachi_Magic_Wand

I also love a toy (that I am waiting for Tabu to start carrying) called the Wahl 7 in 1. It is similar to the Hitachi, but shaped differently and has 7 different attachments. It has, quite literally saved our sex life, due to some perimenopausal issues I have had recently with a very stubborn first orgasm. I NEVER used to have a problem, my hormones changed this last year, and my always there since adolescence hair trigger orgasm ability (at least for the first one) was gone. This toy, along with several others has made it much easier for me, and both of us.

Have a good time shopping.
