Guess what? Regular social etiquette applies strongly at Swinger's parties. Unfortunately, many people new to the swinging scene believe it is perfectly acceptable to behave like a sloppy, drunken tourist in Mexico. Manners and politeness act as an important way to show respect for your playmates. There are a few major etiquette rules when attending a Swingers' party to be aware of in advance:

-The first is (obviously) cleanliness.  You already know it is a good idea to bathe before your arrival but this takes on considerable importance before a lifestyle party. Make sure those intimate areas are fresh and clean-shaven! Carrying sanitary wipes in your purse will allow you to freshen up before, during and after the party.

-Did your Mother always tell you not to show up to a party empty-handed? She was right. Showing up with a bottle of wine is always a better ice-breaker than "where's the naked women at?"

-Drinking: Alcohol is a great social lubricant..in moderation. Go easy on the shots-you aren't at a Frat Party...nor is it a cattle auction so pipe down Mr. Loudy McYells Alot.

-Along the same lines as cleanliness, protection is also important. Don't expect your new friends to provide all the protection! Bring enough condoms and dental dams to share.

-Prompt arrival is also important when attending swinging parties.  It is important to be introduced to everybody at a party, and to engage in socialization before the festivities really get going.  This will help you and others feel more comfortable, and will aid in finding the right playmates for yourselves.  It is always a good thing to know your playmate's names.

-While it is not always necessary for couples to stay together throughout the night, it is important one does not leave the party without the other.  Prowling from room to room is also frowned upon, particularly when done by men.  On that note, no means no.  If you are declined for play, do not pester or ask why-- it can lead to uncomfortable situations and hurt feelings.  Simply thank the person and move on.

Remember to always treat others with respect-- the Golden Rule of treating others as you would like to be treated certainly applies to swinging etiquette.  If you are respectful of others, and present yourself well, you are likely to have a great time and be invited back again.  Remember to always thank your hosts, and follow up the next day with a posted note of gratitude.

Have a great time!

And don't honk a woman's nipples and make that fog horn sound. That's frowned on.
